Why I loved Bali

I am often asked by people where my favorite Asian destination is and to be completely honest, it is very difficult to pick just one. With this being said, I do have a few favorites in mind and one which I keep going back to is Bali in Indonesia. There are so many reasons why I love this little corner of the world and today I wanted to talk you through just a few of them. And so if you are traveling though Asia and you are looking for your next destination, here is exactly why I love Bali.

Trigger Happy

In the last year or so I have been trying my best to take more photos of my travels, it can be difficult to constantly be thinking about taking a shot when you are busy having a good time. With this being said, one thing that I can say about Bali is that you won’t have your camera out of your hand for very long as the island gives you so much that you want to snap. From beaches, monkeys, temples and rice paddies, you won’t be able to stop yourself from taking photos.

Cheap Luxury

After so many years of budget backpacking, I like to treat myself to a little bit of luxury from time to time. Whenever I go to Bali, this is uppermost in my mind and you can get some of the most luxurious hideaways and hotels, for a fraction of the cost that you would pay in many Asian countries. Spas with their own private beach, hotels that appear secret and lodges where you can sleep under the stars, if you are looking for luxury, this is the place for you.

Food, Food, Food

Because of the way in which Indonesia has been occupied by colonies and the fact that it is broken up in to many different cultures, the food industry has greatly benefited. Here in Bali, all of these influences come together and in my view it is the single best place to eat some delicious Indonesian cooking, for very low prices.

I may not party quite like I used to but I still like to let my hair down from time to time and there is no place in the world like Bali for a party. I love the all night beach parties which you can find here and they very often go on through the day as well. Because of the party scene here in Bali there are many foreigners here, particularly Australians who love to have a good time and you can meet many like minded people to have a good old knees up with.

Whether you are shopping, staying in hotels, eating classy food or having a drinking session, you will be paying an incredibly low price for it all. If this was a resort in Europe it would be one of the world’s most expensive, but it isn’t, it is in Asia and as long as the prices stay down, you can count on your money taking you very, very far.
